I’ve been here three times already for breakfast with a friend and it has always been a great experience. Their breakfast menu is very affordable. The selection may be a bit limited, but if you’re not too picky you’ll definitely enjoy the good portion sizes and great prices—especially if you have a Winners Edge card, which gives you an even better deal.
The staff are respectful, friendly, and attentive. The waiting time for the food is reasonable, and everything we’ve had was served hot and freshly cooked.
Shout out to Manny and the team for the great service. Thanks and keep up the good work! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Tasty food.

The ambiance was cozy, the service was courteous, and the food was tasty. Highly recommend it for a relaxed and satisfying start to your day!

Getting Started at Starlight Casino Edmonton
Starlight Casino Edmonton sits inside West Edmonton Mall and spans 120,000 square feet of gaming and entertainment space across two floors. The site opened in its current form on September 26, 2018, after Gateway Casinos & Entertainment completed a $57 million redevelopment of the former Palace Casino. Guests across Alberta enter the floor through Entrance #9 of the mall. The layout pairs a retro Las Vegas look with current equipment, grouping slot machines, live tables, the REPLAY Arena, and themed dining in one location. All play, deposits, and payouts are processed in Canadian dollars (CAD), and the property follows Mountain Time (MST/MDT).

Location and Entry Requirements
Identification and Dress Code
Every guest must present valid government-issued photo identification (driver’s licence, passport, or provincial ID card) at entry, since participation is restricted to patrons aged 18 and over. Attire should stay clean and presentable; beachwear, soiled garments, and clothing carrying offensive text are refused. Casual items such as jeans, trousers, skirts, and dresses are accepted, and staff may decline entry where these standards are not met.
Finding the Venue
Drivers reach West Edmonton Mall via 87 Avenue and 170 Street, with free parking in the mall lots near Entrance #9. Public transit riders can take Edmonton Transit Service (ETS) routes that stop at the mall transit centre, followed by a short indoor walk to the casino. Once inside, concourse signage directs visitors straight to the gaming floor.
Slots and How to Begin Playing
The main floor holds roughly 768 slot machines, ranging from penny denominations to high-limit units, including titles such as 88 Fortunes, Lightning Link, $5 Jungle Wild, and Pac-Man. To start a session, a player follows a short sequence at any cabinet.
- Insert Canadian cash or a TITO (ticket-in, ticket-out) voucher into the bill acceptor.
- Select a denomination and line bet using the on-screen controls.
- Press Spin or the physical button to set the reels in motion.
- Use the Cash Out button to print a voucher with any remaining balance.
- Redeem vouchers at the cashier cage or a self-service kiosk.
High-limit players can move to the Starlight Room, a separate area built for larger stakes and added privacy. Voucher redemption and currency services are handled at the cage throughout operating hours.
Table Games on the Main Floor
Classic Table Games
The casino runs about 20 live tables covering Free Bet Blackjack, Blackjack with Lucky Lucky, EZ Baccarat (with Dragon and Panda side bets), Roulette, Ultimate Texas Hold’em with progressive, and Chase the Flush. Minimum bets shift by table and time of day, with limits posted on the placards at each station. Dealers manage the pace, and new players may request a rules walkthrough before buying in.
Table game | Notable feature |
Free Bet Blackjack | Free double and split bets on qualifying hands |
EZ Baccarat | Dragon and Panda optional wagers |
Ultimate Texas Hold’em | Progressive side bet available |
Roulette | Single-number and outside bet coverage |
Chase the Flush | Payout scaled to flush length |
High-Limit Options
The High Limit Lounge and private salons serve guests who prefer raised table maximums and quieter surroundings. Access is arranged through floor supervisors, who confirm seating and applicable limits. These rooms provide dedicated attention from staff assigned to the area.
REPLAY Arena
The REPLAY Arena, positioned on the gaming floor, was the first installation of its kind in Western Canada. It links connected electronic stations to live dealer tables featuring Blackjack, Roulette, Baccarat, Craps, and Sic Bo, with each round shown on an oversized video wall. Players take a seat at one of the interactive terminals, place bets through the touchscreen, and watch the dealer resolve the hand on the central display. Dealers control lighting, music, and on-screen graphics from a single console, and a live DJ performs on Friday and Saturday evenings. The space also houses Fortune’s Cup live-action digital horse racing and the Prizm social Roulette table.
Poker Room Access
The dedicated poker room operates with eight tables behind a private entrance, spreading both limit and no-limit formats. Available games rotate among the listed options.
- Texas Hold’em (limit and no-limit)
- Omaha
- Crazy Pineapple
- Scheduled tournaments and league events
Seating during peak periods is assigned by floor staff, so arriving early or calling ahead helps secure a place. Tableside food orders, Wi-Fi, automatic shufflers, cocktail service, and valet parking support longer sessions.
Game Types and Hours
The room runs from noon until late Sunday through Thursday and stays open 24 hours on Friday and Saturday. Game rotation and posted limits are confirmed by the floor supervisor on duty. Tournament schedules and league standings are listed at the room entrance.
Dining at the Casino
Nova Bar anchors the centre of the gaming floor and operates daily as a full-service bar with multiple TVs showing live sports such as UFC, NHL, and NFL at no cover charge. CHOW Lucky Noodle Bar serves wok-fired Asian dishes, and Nova Bar additionally offers a $4.99 breakfast with complimentary coffee. Several signature outlets, including MATCH Eatery & Public House, ATLAS Steak + Fish, The Buffet, and Halley’s Club, have operated on site, though availability changes; current hours should be confirmed at Guest Services before a visit.
Venue | Type | Typical hours |
Nova Bar | Bar, sports viewing | 10:00 am – 2:00 am |
CHOW Lucky Noodle Bar | Asian, wok-fired | Afternoon to late |
The Buffet | Mediterranean, Indian, Asian themes | 9:00 am – 10:00 pm |

Responsible Gaming Support
Starlight Casino Edmonton operates under the Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis (AGLC) framework, which positions gaming as entertainment rather than a source of income. Patrons who want spending limits or a break can request self-exclusion and support resources through Guest Services or AGLC channels. The venue posts responsible-gaming information at the cage and kiosks. Confirming current hours, table limits, and venue availability before travelling helps Alberta visitors plan each trip efficiently.
