Was there for my son's convocation. He stayed at the hotel the night before and said the room was amazing, just as nice as the pictures online. The venue was perfect for an event like this. The casino area was absolutely beautiful with stone water features, lots of wood, stone floors. It was conveniently located minutes from Orillia.

All these Casinos used to be a fun time but nowadays its just a donation hub. U dont win anything and they have managed to take all the fun out of it. Make it enjoyable. But to just loose non stop is not fun. If it wasn't for the restaurant and shows there would be no point in going there

Stayed here while attending a conference and the whole experience just worked seamlessly. Everything you need is under one roof — great food options, a nice pool, solid fitness room, casino (at least i broke even) and excellent conference facilities.
We were also treated to a catered dinner during the event, and the prime rib was absolutely phenomenal. The service from start to finish was impeccable. A fantastic spot for both business and relaxation.

We came for my son’s birthday, The gentleman at check in was very friendly and upbeat, he made our stay welcoming from the hop. The room was beautiful and spacious. After a non hotel problem( next door guest was very loud), Christina the supervisor was quick to help us and make sure we were accommodated. We truly didn’t expect anything but we are forever thankful she was quick to take action and provide us with a new space. My son was already to excited to have his special day celebrated at the casino, he was even more thrilled. Thank you for making this momma very happy and could enjoy our stay even more!!! I’d give 10 stars if I could!!!! Thank you for the exceptional service and friendly hospitality

We recently stayed at Casino Rama for the third time. The Casino itself was well kept, clean and had a great assortment of games. The restaurants were good and while a little pricey offered good portions and great flavors. The rooms however did not meet our standards. The bed looked to be slept in but we brushed it off as just poor housekeeping. However when we pulled back the sheets late at night we bed we found blood droplets through the bed. We informed the front desk of this and they sent someone to investigate. They found more blood not only on the top sheet but on the mattress protector as well. I cannot begin to relay the distgust of this. When asked if we could switch rooms the person they sent agreed and was very helpful however the person he was speaking to over the radio was rude and condescending. We were relocated to another room eventually which was also poorly cleaned with garbage from previous guest and hair all over the bathroom floor. The rooms missed the mark and unfortunately we will not be returning.

Our weekend away here was our joint Christmas gift to each other for myself, my husband and adult children. Although it is a bit of a longer drive for us than Niagara and was a bit pricier- the suite-style rooms (tastefully decorated, with all the amenities and a good deal of space) in addition to the ease of parking (free), all of the dining options (exceptional experiences at all of them!), indoor access to the casino (especially important in these Canadian winter months) AND the overall atmosphere with so many natural elements and Indigenous art/ culture/ history/ learning opportunities (incredibly important for all of us Canadians!!!!) MORE than made up for the price difference!!! As did the reasonable (if anything can be called that these days lol) beverage / food prices, resort fee, complimentary refreshment area in the casino (coffee/tea/pop/water), and in-room fridge/complimentary bottled water. Although we left 'losers' - it was a great weekend!! Highly recommend staying here! A weekday stay would make it even more affordable!!

A couple of meal highlights- we were able to bring our own breakfast and snack foods/drinks thanks to the in-room fridge (even though it's a nice weekend away- I don't want to spend more than I have to!) Tim Horton's is on site and always open and prices are not completely jacked up (although higher than off resort), Match has a decent poutine (comparative food prices) and Guiness on draft! Lots of people were ordering the fish & chips and it look fabulous!!! Noodle House was a late-night hit! And Atlas..... Well that was a whole INCREDIBLE experience of its own!!!! Will review that separately!

Overall, we had a great time, will return and are leaving very grateful for the blessing of the experience!

Joining My Club Rewards

Membership in My Club Rewards (Gateway’s company-wide loyalty program) is free and grants free-play points, dining credits, reduced hotel rates, and ticket giveaways. The program operates across all Gateway properties and applies to both slot and table play. Accumulated points convert into free play, food, and accommodation. Tier levels progress through Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Black, with added perks at each step.

Steps to Register

Registration takes about two minutes and requires valid government photo identification.

  • Visit the Guest Services desk or any My Club booth on the gaming floor.
  • Present valid government-issued photo ID (visitors must be 19 or older).
  • Complete the sign-up to receive a physical My Club card.
  • Insert the card into a slot machine, or hand it to the dealer before table play, to accumulate points.

Members must keep an active card inserted during play to qualify for the regular cash giveaways, which have awarded prizes such as $5,000 (CAD) every half hour on select Friday nights.

Slot Machines and Denominations

The floor holds more than 1,500 slots grouped by denomination and theme across a single level. Formats include traditional reels, video reels, transmissive screens, multi-denomination units, progressive jackpots, video poker, and electronic table games. High-limit slots occupy a separate, quieter zone away from the main floor. To find a specific title, players can ask floor staff or follow the “NEW” and “FEATURED” signage marking recently added machines.

Featured Slot Themes

Recurring themes include Wild Frontier, Dragon Link, Madame X, Wheel of Fortune, Devil’s Lock, and Colossal Diamonds (selection rotates and is subject to change). Multi-denomination machines let players switch between penny, nickel, quarter, and dollar wagers on one unit. Video poker variants are also stocked for players who prefer hand-based decisions.

Playing Table Games

Casino Rama Resort offers 50 table games covering blackjack, baccarat, roulette, and stud poker variants, all open 24/7. To confirm which games are running at a given time, players may call the casino floor at 705-329-5121 before arriving. Dealers explain rules on request, which assists newcomers seating at blackjack or roulette. Minimum bets typically rise on Friday and Saturday evenings due to higher traffic.

Featured Table Games

The floor spreads Squeeze Baccarat, Blackjack (including Spanish 21 and Free Bet), 3 Card Poker, Roulette, Texas Hold’em Poker, Mississippi Stud, Let It Ride Bonus, Caribbean Stud Poker, High Card Flush, Big Raise Stud Poker, and Pai Gow Express (No Commission). For poker availability, players call 705-329-5804 and must check in at the Poker Brush within two hours of the call.

Electronic Table Games and the High Limits Room

The Electronic Table Games (ETG) system uses individual player terminals with touchscreen digital wagering. Each terminal carries Blackjack (Auto Mode), Baccarat (Auto Mode), and Double 00 Roulette (Auto Mode), with limits starting at $3. Players sit at the terminal, input bets digitally, and receive instant payouts to the machine, which suits smaller bankrolls. For larger stakes, the High Limits Room features Squeeze Baccarat and high-limit Blackjack with wagers up to $15,000 per hand.

Reserving High Limits Tables

High Limits tables operate on a first-come, first-served basis, though advance reservation is available.

  • Contact the casino in advance or speak to a My Club representative on arrival.
  • Request a table reservation or, for qualified higher-tier members, private room access.
  • Confirm the current game type and limits by calling a Casino Shift Manager at 705-329-5121.

Higher-tier My Club members receive priority access to the room and to private gaming where available.

Dining Options and Hours

The resort houses several restaurants serving formats from fine dining to quick meals. St. Germain’s is a steakhouse plating AAA Alberta beef and seafood from Wednesday to Sunday, while the Couchiching Court Buffet provides all-you-can-eat lunch and dinner. Cedar Express supplies pizza and sandwiches, and The Weirs serves breakfast. Simcoe Yard House operates as a sports lounge with HD screens and live music on Friday and Saturday nights. Because the number of outlets is limited, tables fill quickly before concerts.

Booking the Hotel and Spa

The hotel offers 289 suites with living areas, flat-screen TVs, and Wi-Fi; certain suites add gas fireplaces and balconies. Room rates start at $189 per night (CAD), and the hotel maintains a dedicated smoking floor permitted under First Nation jurisdiction. Check-in is at 4:00 PM and check-out at 11:00 AM. Budget-conscious visitors can stay at the Days Inn, a 10-minute walk away. Booking ahead is advised during peak season and around concert dates at Casino Rama Resort in Ontario.

Spa and Wellness Facilities

Every hotel guest receives access to the Balance in Life Spa, whose facilities include an indoor saltwater pool, a sauna, a steam room, and a fitness centre. Treatments cover massages, facials, and body wraps delivered by trained therapists. The saunas are gendered, so couples or groups should plan separate sessions accordingly.

Getting There and Entry Requirements

The resort lies roughly 150 kilometres north of Toronto, reached via Highway 400 and then Highway 11. Free parking and valet service operate on site, and Angel Tours runs coach transport from selected pickup points. Drivers of electric vehicles should note that only two (slow) chargers are available through valet, so topping up in Orillia or Barrie beforehand is practical.

  • Minimum age for the casino floor and gaming dining areas is 19.
  • Government-issued photo ID is required (a backup ID assists guests under 25).
  • There is no admission fee and no dress code.

Currency exchange is available on site, and the indoor casino is smoke-free, with designated outdoor patios for smoking or vaping. For concert visits, arriving early helps secure dining before showtime.
