5/5 — Outstanding casino experience.
The casino is beautifully maintained, with a lively yet comfortable atmosphere. The staff are attentive, friendly, and always ready to help. The gaming floor offers a great variety of slots and tables, all well-organized and easy to navigate. Drinks and service are quick, and the overall vibe is energetic without feeling overwhelming. A top-tier destination for entertainment. This place knows how to keep the excitement going. Great games, great people, and great vibes all around. Whether you’re here to play, relax, or enjoy the night, the casino delivers every time. Highly recommended!

This is explicitly for the restaurant, y'all are doing an amazing job. My wife and I popped in today during the great power outage of 2026. Our waitress was 10/10 welcoming, inviting and friendly.

Skipping ahead, the food was amazing. My wife has the steak sandwich, steak was seasoned and cooked perfectly which made her happy. I had the deep fried chicken burger (absolutely great) a poutine and the mushroom caps as an Appy for us. I'll never stop talking about the mushroom caps.

For a casino joint, this is well worth visiting. Won't be our last time there that's for sure!

Food was great, service was good. We went on a Sunday afternoon so there was only 1 other table. Price isn't as sharp as I'd expect from a casino. But still decent value.

Creme brulee was a wee bit burnt but still edible 🙂

Would go again next time I'm in town.

About Gold Horse Casino in Saskatchewan

Gold Horse Casino is a First Nations gaming venue in Lloydminster, set on the Saskatchewan side of Canada’s only border city. It operates under the Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority (SIGA) and ranks as the seventh tribal casino in that network. The property broke ground on June 12, 2017, and opened to the public on December 21, 2018, one day after its formal ceremony. The land is held by the Little Pine First Nation, with the Border Tribal Council acting as landlord and developer while SIGA holds the operating lease.

Regulation falls under SIGA and the Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority (SLGA), with governance aligned to the Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations (FSIN). Entry requires proof of age 19 or over. The single-floor facility (approximately 49,000 square feet) houses slots, live tables, electronic terminals, dining outlets, and an event centre.

How to Reach the Casino in Lloydminster

The venue sits just off Highway 16 (the Yellowhead), surrounded mainly by industrial businesses, so arriving by car is the practical option. Free parking is provided on site, along with designated RV spaces. Lloydminster Municipal Airport lies roughly 10.7 kilometres away, about a 12-minute drive. Players Club members may also use a free shuttle service, which carries a $10 slot voucher and a $5 restaurant voucher for riders. Edmonton and Calgary fall within 400 kilometres, while Vermilion, Wainwright, Turtleford, and Maidstone sit closer.

Playing the Slot Machines

Slots form the core of the floor at Gold Horse Casino, with over 250 machines supplied by AGS, Aristocrat, and IGT. To begin, a player inserts a Players Club card into any cabinet, selects a denomination on the touchscreen, sets line and bet values, then presses spin. Before wagering, players should confirm these details on each cabinet:

  • Coin values run from $0.01 through $1 ($0.01, $0.02, $0.05, $0.25, and $1 per credit).
  • Titles from AGS, Aristocrat, and IGT, refreshed on a regular schedule.
  • Linked progressive units, identified by overhead jackpot displays.

Once a card is inserted, the screen tracks earned points, since every $1 wagered on slots returns one Players Club point.

Progressive Jackpots

Two Saskatchewan progressives anchor the floor: Smoke Signals (seeded at $1,000,000) and Rider Nation (seeded at $50,000). Smaller linked pools can climb toward $100,000, and Smoke Signals has historically paid out before reaching $2,000,000, including a $1.4 million local win in a recent year. Players access these by selecting a flagged cabinet and wagering the indicated qualifying bet shown on the display.

Table Games and Electronic Gaming

Live Tables

Five to six live tables operate daily, opening at 5pm and closing at 1:30am (Sunday to Thursday) or 2am (Friday and Saturday). The lineup covers blackjack across three tables, Blackjack Switch, Chase the Flush, and Phil’em Up, plus two cash-game poker tables where the house takes a rake. Blackjack carries the Lucky Lucky side bet (paying up to $5,000) and a Bonus Spin progressive; the Bonus Spin Triple Diamond paid $220,550 in August 2024.

The Circuit

Electronic table games occupy an area named The Circuit, holding 18 terminals. Players select baccarat, blackjack, roulette, or Ultimate Texas Hold’em from the screen, with a minimum bet of $2 per hand, and live dealers occasionally host the units. Electronic gaming machines return one Players Club point for every $5 wagered.

Joining SIGA Rewards and Earning Points

Membership in the Players Club, revitalized as SIGA Rewards in October 2024, is free and valid across all seven SIGA casinos. To enroll, a visitor follows these steps:

  • Bring government-issued photo identification confirming an age of 19 or over.
  • Present it at the Players Club desk on the gaming floor.
  • Receive a physical rewards card within a few minutes.
  • Insert the card into any slot or terminal before play to log points.

New members receive $10 in slot play on sign-up, applied directly to a registered machine.

Member Benefits

The same card unlocks 10% off dining, birthday vouchers, tiered-member exclusives, discounted shows, and entry into member-only draws.

Converting Points

Slots return one point per $1 wagered, while electronic machines return one point per $5. Once a member accumulates 1,000 points, those convert to $5 in cash back, redeemable on machines at any SIGA location.

Dining at the Casino

Three outlets serve the floor. The Sports Bar and Grill offers steaks, sandwiches, burgers, salads, and the bannock taco, with mains starting near $17 and SIGA-brewed lagers on tap. Charley Biggs’ Chicken (also referenced as Kookum’s Kitchen) serves fried chicken with sides, with a four-piece combo close to $20. The Deli on the floor handles quick service items such as hot dogs, soup, and noodle bowls. Members receive 10% off at all three outlets when a card is presented.

Promotions Available to Members

Offers rotate, but recurring promotions deliver regular value to card holders. Active members can claim the following:

  • New Member Bonus: $10 in slot play at sign-up.
  • Stay, Play and Dine: pay $10, play $20, plus a $5 Bar & Grill coupon at partnered hotels.
  • 55+ Day: members aged 55 and over spin for prizes each Monday.

Entertainment, Accommodation, and Responsible Play

The Event Centre seats up to 220 guests at six-foot round tables (8–10 people each) and hosts live music, comedy, tribute acts, powwows, and community gatherings, with ticketed shows such as touring tribute bands priced around $40. Bookings for private functions run through the same number, +1 (306) 825-3777, which also handles catering and audiovisual support. No accommodation exists on site, though the Home Inn & Suites sits directly across the street, with Microtel Inn and Suites, BCMInns, and Hampton Inn nearby. The venue provides free parking, RV parking, and full wheelchair access. Gold Horse Casino supports responsible play through GameSense materials, a self-assessment brochure, and the Saskatchewan Problem Gambling Helpline, available on request at guest services.
