What a disappointment with food and service. We attended art battle which we have been for the full season and this time we’re denied ordering from the full regular menu we have always ordered from. We were told by the kitchen manager this is “new”. The “new” menu is the Pearl Show room is lacking so much. We ended up ordering and were so disappointed when in the past we have always been extremely happy. One ordered the Social Burger which says it comes with a Retro Sauce; this came with mayonnaise. While the burger was good the fires were cold. The Caesar salad was ordered and it was meh. Another person ordered the Proper Steak Frites…anyone who knows steak frites knows it’s cut slices of steak. Nope it came as a full steak, the side listed is Caesar salad and it didn’t come with it but steak fries. The proper side salad came and the lettuce had no dressing. Last the Mediterranean spiced salmon bowl came. The veggies were cold, rice was dry like it has sat out over night. It didn’t come with the crispy chickpeas and falafel it says.
The service was terrible. Very disappointing for a venue we have enjoyed coming to for a a couple of years. It definitely will make us returning for future events

The venue at Yellowhead Casino adds to the excitement, offering a lively backdrop with plenty of space to mingle and admire the artwork up close. Whether you’re an art enthusiast or just looking for a unique night out, the Art Battle is an unforgettable event that highlights the vibrant artistic community in Edmonton.

Navigating the Gaming Floor and Slot Machines
The electronic section holds more than 700 slot machines across the main hall, spanning penny and quarter denominations alongside progressive units such as American Original and Alberta Gold (top prizes starting at CAD 20,000). Machines accept cash and TITO (ticket-in, ticket-out) vouchers, letting players move credits between units without repeated cash handling. Slot play is available 24 hours, seven days a week.
How to Play the Slots
New and returning players can follow a short sequence to begin a session:
- Select a machine by denomination and theme.
- Insert cash or a TITO ticket to load credits.
- Activate the pay lines and set the wager per line.
- Press spin and request a floor attendant for assistance if needed.
Each unit displays its minimum and maximum bet on screen before the first spin. Attendants stationed across the floor explain bonus rounds, free-spin triggers, and jackpot conditions on request.
Video Lottery Terminals
Alongside the slots, the venue runs a bank of VLTs (video lottery terminals) operating from 9 a.m. to 4 a.m. daily. These terminals offer reel and poker-style formats at lower stake levels, suited to shorter sessions between table games or dining stops.
Live Table Games and Card Options
The table-games department covers blackjack, craps, baccarat, pai gow tiles, roulette, Ultimate Texas Hold’em, and Crazy Four Card Poker. Each table posts its minimum and maximum limits on a placard, so players can confirm stake ranges before taking a seat. Dealers handle buy-ins at the table, converting cash into chips that remain valid across the main floor.
EZ Baccarat and Bad Beat Baccarat
EZ Baccarat follows standard baccarat rules with one adjustment: winning Banker bets carry no commission, and a Banker win on a three-card seven results in a push rather than a loss. Bad Beat Baccarat adds two side bets, paying out when the Player or Banker total finishes exactly one point below the opposing hand. Both variants are dealt on the main floor and inside the High Limit Room.

Using the 24-Hour Poker Room
Pure Casino Yellowhead houses the largest poker room in Edmonton, fitted with 12 tables and running 24 hours a day. The standard rotation includes fixed-limit Texas Hold’em (commonly 3/6) and No-Limit Texas Hold’em (1/2 with a CAD 500 maximum buy-in), plus Pot-Limit Omaha during scheduled periods. Progressive jackpots accrue separately for PLO and NLH formats, while Pure Poker Points feed pools posted on the room’s display board.
Pure Poker Tour 2025 Scoring
Players aiming for Player of the Year standings should confirm an event meets the qualifying conditions before registering:
- Buy-in (including entry fee) of CAD 300 or higher.
- A minimum of 30 entrants, or a prize pool of at least CAD 10,000 with no fewer than 10 entrants.
- Open enrollment to the public (ladies, team, and seniors’ events excluded).
- Monthly events qualify; daily and weekly fixtures do not.
Points are calculated by multiplying three factors, and every player who reaches the money earns a score. Tournament staff confirm eligibility at the cashier desk before buy-in.
Accessing the High Limit Room and VIP Lounge
The High Limit Room delivers private-table service for higher-stake players, staffed with dedicated hosts who arrange seating and session terms. This room holds 7 baccarat tables, 1 pai gow table, and 2 blackjack tables, while the separate VIP lounge contains 2 EZ Baccarat tables for reserved play. Guests seeking access can request a host through floor staff or the cashier, who confirms limits and availability before play begins.
Dining and the Pearl Showroom
Three on-site outlets serve the floor: Retro Kitchen & Bar (steaks, the Steakhouse Burger, Buffalo Mac & Cheese, and poutine), SNAX Pantry & Wok (sandwiches, bowls, Asian wok dishes, and mini doughnuts), and Social Bar & Lounge (full bar service until 2 a.m.). The Pearl Showroom hosts concerts, tribute acts, comedy, and sports broadcasts under a dedicated sound and LED video system.
