More slots
It appears to be about 70 percent of the return rate
I wrote it down because it was a weekday evening
I don't think there are a few table games
The environment is pleasant
It would be nice to add a self-drinking stand

Theyre finally finished "upgrading" all their slot machines. So thryve removed any and all of the older style slot machines, and teplaced them with brand new, flashy, highly digitized machines. And I swear you can almost hear the AI, that
lives and runs the machines operations, laughing at all the stupid patrons its so obviously and boldly robbing blind. Leaves a very noticable bruise on the ego.

One of my friend Find the phone on the floor after a few minutes the phone rings he pick up the phone. The guy said I’m coming to pick it up from you. He said OK and after a minute, he’s wife show up she was screaming why didn’t give it to Security. My friend told her husband told me to wait. I’m coming security came told my friend it’s your fault. And the band my friend for one year not to go to casino. Which is good for him, because other friend lost the house in this casino. but absolutely Soviet union rules I seen before people are abused by Security. Don’t go casino.
I had a very disappointing experience at this casino due to the way I was treated by security staff.

I wear Meta smart glasses as my prescription eyewear. They were not charged and were not functioning as smart glasses at the time. I respectfully explained this to the security guard and even offered for her to check them to confirm they were not operational. However, she refused to listen and insisted that I return them to my car.

I explained that I cannot see properly without my glasses, but she showed no understanding or willingness to accommodate my situation. The interaction felt dismissive and disrespectful, and I was ultimately denied entry without any reasonable consideration.

As a customer, I expect to be treated with respect and basic understanding, especially when it involves a medical or vision-related need. Unfortunately, this experience was both embarrassing and insulting.

I hope management reviews their policies and provides better training to staff on how to handle such situations professionally and respectfully.

On a recent trip to visit my mother in Vancouver, she threw a surprise party for me at the bar Asylum. She booked the VIP area and it was the perfect space for the party. We had Vi as a server and she was amazing! So friendly, very attentive and professional! We might have even snuck her onto the dance floor real quick! Just don’t tell her boss! It honestly added to the high level of service she provided. Even the security was exceptional, looking out for the best interest of the guests. This made us feel safe as we danced the night away. Both the band, Sons of Stanley and the DJ had a wide variety of music to please the crowd. I would highly recommend if you are looking for a fun night out!

Went to the casino today for the first time in years. Got my encore rewards card replaced due to losing my old one. The gal who did it was nice but advised that if the card didn't work in a machine it would be the machine at fault so I'd have to move to another machine that accepted it or decide to play without the reward card. I was there for ~3.5 hours and the card worked in very few machines. I'd say less than a quarter of all machines I played accepted the card and I played a lot of machines. I tried moving to other machines but it seemed there were more that didn't accept the card than did so that got old. It was frustrating because they obviously know it's a problem otherwise the gal who activated the card wouldn't have said what she did. They need to fix the issue or not offer the reward because if rewards are earned by playing, I lost some today.

I didn't rate the rooms because I didn't use any other than the main floor. The service was good with the gal who activated my encore card but I only saw the beverage cart person twice in 3.5 hours. The location is good, lots of parking and easy access.

Reaching the Property and Parking

Public Transit Options

Travellers from downtown Vancouver should allow close to one hour by combined bus and SkyTrain, since connections near the industrial waterfront are limited. Arrivals from Granville Street reach the site within a short drive, and the Fraser River lies a few industrial blocks away on foot.

Driving and Parking Steps

Drivers take the Trans-Canada Highway and exit toward United Boulevard. The six-level parkade holds 1,600 vehicles at no charge, backed by an outdoor surface lot. Guests park, keep the entry ticket, and walk to the main entrance for identity verification.

Slot Machines and How to Start Spinning

The floor holds 951 slot machines, grouped in banks of three or more, with denominations from C$0.01 up to high-limit units inside the Privé rooms. Each machine uses a cashless ticket-in, ticket-out (TITO) system, so a player feeds in cash or a printed voucher, spins, and prints a payout slip. Slips convert to cash at a redemption kiosk or the cashier’s desk.

To begin a session, a visitor should:

  • Insert Canadian currency or a TITO voucher into the bill acceptor.
  • Set the line count and bet size with the on-screen or physical buttons.
  • Press spin and watch the credit meter for the result.
  • Press “cash out” to print a voucher for redemption.

Software behind the collection includes Light & Wonder, Everi, Aristocrat, Scientific Games, IGT, and Konami. Progressive networks cover Powerbucks (a C$1.3 million payout recorded in 2020) and B.C. Gold, the latter paying minor jackpots to C$50 and provincial prizes reaching C$200,000.

Table gaming at Great Canadian Casino Vancouver runs from 10:00 to 04:00 Pacific Time. The floor carries 35 tables across blackjack, roulette, and 16 baccarat layouts, plus 48 multi-table Stadium Gaming terminals that support craps and added formats. Standard floor limits begin near C$5, electronic terminals open at C$1.00, and the steepest stakes sit inside the Privé high-limit baccarat salon.

Poker Room Hours and Jackpots

The poker room operates 10:00 to 03:00 and extends to 24 hours Friday through Sunday. Players access Texas Hold’em alongside two Bad Beat Jackpots and 14 High Hand Jackpots. No VIP status is required to take a seat at the listed limits.

Encore Rewards Registration

Membership is optional, yet it returns C$10 in Free Play at sign-up plus birthday and dining benefits. Points accrue during play, and 1,000 points redeem for C$5 of Free Play at any machine or at Guest Services.

The program is completed in three steps:

  • Open the Encore Rewards page on the venue website and start the web form.
  • Enter full name, date of birth, residential address, and email.
  • Present government ID at Guest Services to collect the physical card.

Four tiers (Diamond, Double Diamond, Triple Diamond, Elite) raise reward rates as recorded play volume increases. Members also unlock private offers, contests, and food-and-drink discounts.

Redeeming Points and Upgrading Tiers

Members insert the card into any slot machine to track points automatically, then check the balance on the player-tracking display. To climb a tier, a guest accumulates the required points within the qualifying period, after which the card reprints at the kiosk with the new status. Free Play converts at the bill acceptor exactly like a TITO voucher.

Dining Outlets and Operating Hours

Four outlets serve the floor: Asylum (the main restaurant), Fú Express (build-your-own noodle bowls), Chip’s Sandwich Shop, and Roadies Burger Bar. Asylum opens Thursday through Sunday with mains near C$30, while Roadies prices lighter, such as a Monster Mushroom Burger at C$22. Gordon Ramsay Burger, the first in Canada, joined during the December 2023 refresh that returned the venue to the Great Canadian banner. Complimentary drinks appear chiefly at select events and inside the high-roller baccarat salon, and a 10–15% tip is customary throughout.

The minimum age is 19, the dress code stays smart-casual (no gang-related or offensive clothing), and reservations are not needed for general floor play. Photography is restricted around gaming tables, though images of food, companions, and rock memorabilia are permitted. Smoking is confined to a fenced outdoor area.

Age and Identity Checks

Staff request ID from anyone appearing under 30, since British Columbia regulation mandates identity checks for every guest; no personal data is stored afterward. Residents may use a driver’s licence, while non-resident visitors must present a passport. Guests who cannot verify age are turned away at the entrance.

Competing Venues Across British Columbia

Eight licensed casinos operate around Vancouver, and several sit within a short drive of Coquitlam. Each Great Canadian and Gateway property offers a distinct mix of games, hotels, and betting limits.

Key alternatives include:

  • River Rock Casino Resort (Richmond): 1,100+ slots, 175+ tables, a 400-room hotel, and the province’s largest Stadium Gaming setup.
  • Parq Vancouver: 600+ slots and 75 tables beside BC Place.
  • Grand Villa Casino (Burnaby): 1,300+ slots, 60+ tables, and a 24-hour poker room.
  • Starlight Casino (New Westminster): nearly 1,000 slots, 54 live tables, and an on-site racebook.

Guests wanting on-site lodging usually select River Rock or Parq, since Great Canadian Casino Vancouver holds no rooms; its partner Executive Plaza Hotel sits nearby at roughly C$200 per night.

Planning a Visit

A first visit proceeds smoothly when guests confirm table hours before travelling, carry valid government ID, and bring an accepted payment method (cash, card, or chips). The contact line is (604) 523-6888. Because slots run around the clock, late arrivals can still play after table sections close at 04:00 Pacific Time. Anyone targeting the lowest entry point should locate the C$5 blackjack table or the C$1.00 Stadium terminals before peak evening hours at Great Canadian Casino Vancouver.
