My room had everything I needed. The service was unbelievable. Housekeeping was fabulous. I wish I had taken advantage of the amenities because it's not every hotel that has usana in addition to the pool and hot tub but I was on a work trip.

We went to the Laugh Out Lounge comedy event presenting Tim Nutt in February and had dinner at the Hiy Steaks. We enjoyed the show and dinner. We were impressed when the chef came to our table to ask us how we liked our dinner. It was excellent we told him. We would definitely recommend having dinner and going to the comedy shows as a night out. We will definitely book again.

Front Desk Service is definitely not your friendly helping kind of service they will answer their personal phones before helping you and when asked for assistance they will get mad at you and treat you like you’re bothering them. I highly do not recommend this hotel at all. The other colored lady will treat you rudely because she wants to feel like she has power over you. Please get new front desk service as these people are not friendly or there to serve you in a customer service manner. 0 stars if it was possible.

Recently stayed here with my union (UFCW Local 401) for the Superstore summit and I can honestly say, the staff here are absolutely phenomenal humans. The catered breakfast, lunch and dinner were absolutely delicious and very well made (WAAAY better than the Edmonton expo center). I cannot praise the staff and the people in the area enough for how nice, friendly and helpful they were for someone like myself who hadn't been to Red Deer a lot and didn't know the area well. Everyone from the liquor store clerks to the housekeepers to the people bringing us our food, coffee and other beverages were top notch and I can't thank them enough for such a wonderful stay.

13/10 Would definitely stay there again 🙂

We were here for a company Christmas party. The food was okay, although not much variety. Staff looked annoyed during the event. We went to our room afterwards (rm1401) and it's noisy (rt near elevator), smells like exhaust and have dead flies throughout the room. We contacted the front desk and they moved us. Grateful for the move. Hotel rooms are very worn and showing their age. Front desk was helpful and courteous.

Had the opportunity to stay here on New Year's Eve. Staff was very accommodating with every request and went over and above. The casino is spacious and the entertainment area was nice and visible. Ate at the casino in the evening and the following morning and the food was fantastic. Try the calamari! I was pleased that the smiles were throughout the establishment. Management spoke to us as well. Security and hospitality staff were all very great! Can't wait to be back as we were treated like kings!

How to Enter and Set Up Floor Access

Entry is free and no membership is required to walk the gaming floor. Guests present a government-issued photo ID at the entrance, where staff verify the document and log details into the electronic register. International visitors should carry a passport, since provincial IDs can be harder to validate.

Follow these steps to gain access:

  • Arrive within operating hours and proceed to the main entrance.
  • Present a valid photo ID (driver’s licence, provincial card, or passport) for the mandatory 18+ check.
  • Allow security to enter your details into the electronic registry.
  • Visit Guest Services to request a Winner’s Edge card before starting slot play.

Once registered, the data stays on file, so repeat visits skip re-entry of personal details. Phone bookings made ahead also store guest information, removing the need to re-register on arrival. Self-parking is free and located beside the main doors.

Pre-Booking a Hotel Room

To reserve accommodation, call +1.800.662.7197 and supply contact and stay details. Categories run from standard King rooms (about C$150 per night) to a King Jacuzzi Suite (around C$299) and the Presidential Suite (just over C$1,000). Club-level rooms include 24/7 access to the Club Lounge, where complimentary drinks are served. Check-in begins at 4 PM and check-out is set for 11 AM (Mountain Time).

Playing Slots, Tables and Poker

The floor holds 349 slot machines supplied by Aristocrat and Bally, plus ten pit tables, two VIP Salon tables, and eight poker tables.

Slot Machine Setup

Slots accept cash notes, vouchers, and Winner’s Edge free play; coins are not used. Bets range from C$0.01 up to C$250 per spin. Most titles carry four locally funded progressive jackpots, alongside Alberta-wide progressives such as Jackpot Junction. Players insert the loyalty card first so every wager counts toward rewards.

Joining a Table or Poker Seat

Tables operate first-come, first-served, so no reservation is needed for standard play. The central pit covers Blackjack, Roulette, Baccarat, Chase the Flush, Ultimate Texas Hold’em, and Perfect Pair, with two higher-stake tables in the private Salon. Observed Blackjack limits run C$5 to C$200. The poker room runs two daily Texas Hold’em tournaments and occasional events such as the C$70 Bomb Pot.

Making Deposits and Withdrawing at the Cashier

Players fund electronic games and table buy-ins through the Casino Cashier.

Accepted Payment Methods

Accepted methods include cash, Visa and Mastercard (Canadian and foreign banks), and bank transfers. To handle funds, use this sequence:

  • Approach the Cashier to buy chips or top up an electronic gaming card.
  • Present cash or a card; card transactions process instantly with no commission (minimum C$10).
  • Exchange chips or electronic credit back at the Cashier when closing out.
  • Select cash, a card transfer, or a bank-account transfer for withdrawals.

Winnings may also be applied directly to on-site services, including restaurant bills, room charges, and event tickets. Card payments support currency conversion for guests holding foreign accounts. Large cash withdrawals may require a short verification step at the Cashier desk.

Joining the Winner's Edge Rewards Program

Winner’s Edge is the free loyalty scheme available across Alberta venues, returning free play, dining discounts, and promotional access. Points accumulate as a member plays and uses property services, unlocking parking perks, restaurant savings, and complimentary stays at higher tiers.

Enrolment Steps

To enrol, a player proceeds to Guest Services on arrival, requests Winner’s Edge, completes the registration form, presents a valid photo ID, and collects the card. The card should be inserted into slot machines and presented at tables so all play is tracked toward rewards. Members are advised to subscribe to the website notification list to follow current promotions. Tier status reviews occur periodically based on tracked activity.

Dining and Accommodation Choices

The property runs four venues serving New Canadian, Western, and Asian cuisines. The Casino Restaurant carries a short menu (steak sandwich, quesadillas); VLT Lounge pairs light bites and beverages with slot machines; Garden Terrace Lounge presents a modern New Canadian menu; Hiy Steaks centres on grilled steaks. A full meal typically reaches C$50 or more, though rotating buffets (Chinese, ribs) are priced near C$19.99.

Gratuity and Room Categories

Expected gratuity ranges between 15% and 20% at the dining venues, while room-service tipping remains flexible. Standard rooms, jacuzzi suites, and family suites are bookable, with floor-to-ceiling windows and select private balconies. Suite guests may request late check-out subject to availability.

Booking the Events Centre and Weddings

The Events Centre spans roughly 26,000 square feet within a wider conference complex and accommodates 10 to 2,000 attendees. To arrange a function, contact the events line via +1.800.662.7197 and specify the date, headcount, and format (conference, seminar, wedding, social gathering). The banquet and culinary teams coordinate the following services:

  • Seating arrangements, linens, and draperies.
  • Lighting and sound setup with A/V equipment.
  • Catering and bar services, plus wedding cake.
  • Accommodations and a dedicated bridal suite.

On-site parking and 15 meeting rooms support large agendas, and the venue also stages musical acts and local performers. Couples planning a wedding should confirm dates well ahead, as weekend slots fill quickly during peak season. A coordinator is assigned once a deposit secures the booking.

Dress Code, Security and Operating Hours

Red Deer Resort & Casino enforces no strict dress code, though smart-casual attire predominates. Prohibited items include torn or soiled clothing, tracksuits, sweatpants, running shoes, beachwear, and any garment carrying offensive or gang-related imagery. The venue is non-smoking, so smokers must step outside; CCTV covers the floor and the patrolled car park, which offers free self-parking and Tesla Superchargers.

Operating hours follow a fixed weekly pattern at Red Deer Resort & Casino. Monday through Thursday the floor runs 10 AM to 3 AM (Mountain Time), and from Friday 9 AM it stays open continuously until Monday 3 AM, delivering 24-hour weekend access. Photography is permitted on the floor but not at live gaming or poker tables.
