There's been a lot of renovation; the entrance is magnificent, there are lots of slot machines even on the 2nd floor, and a restaurant on the 2nd floor too—there's something for everyone! †**

Honestly I’ve been going to Playground for a long time and I’ve always been so happy. I never had anything wrong to say until now. I went this Saturday with some friends, and we were drinking at the bar upstairs. There was music, and a lot of people which was nice. But the bartender who took our orders was so rude. He treated us without respect and kept making faces when we were ordering. I felt really uncomfortable, and it seemed like he wanted us to get away as quickly as possible. I asked for a Tom Collins, and it wasn’t really good. I asked the bartender “Gustavo” if he could remake it. He handled everything sooo wrong, and said no he can’t , and turned around. honestly I love playground, but I don’t really want to come back, if your employees are like him. Probably one of the worst bartenders I’ve seen in service.

Obtaining a Member Card and Guest Services

The Member Card functions as the access credential for poker tables and gaming machines, and it also unlocks non-gaming promotions. Guest Services sits immediately inside the entrance. To collect a card on arrival, follow these steps:

  • Visit the Guest Services desk located just past the main doors.
  • Present a valid government-issued photo ID confirming an age of 18 or over.
  • Provide contact details so staff can register the Players Club profile.
  • Receive the printed Member Card within a few minutes.

Players who prefer to save time can complete registration online before travelling; the card is then held at the desk for pickup. Parking is free in the lot, and complimentary valet service is available at the entrance.

Poker Tournament Registration

Playground schedules daily tournaments, satellites, and regional festival series, and has hosted World Poker Tour (WPT), World Series of Poker Circuit (WSOP-C), and partypoker LIVE stops. The room earned the American Poker Award for Event of the Year in 2017 (MILLIONS North America) and the 2024 Global Poker Awards Fans Choice for Poker Room of the Year. To enter a live event, players approach the cage, present the Member Card, and pay the buy-in in Canadian dollars. Standing weekly events use 15- or 20-minute blind levels with starting stacks between 15,000 and 30,000 chips and buy-ins of roughly CAD $70 to $125. Higher-structured specials, including CAD $165–$330 events and multi-day CAD $1,100 entries, appear on the monthly calendar.

Series and Special Events

Major series are announced ahead of their start dates, and late registration is offered for most formats. Players consult the dedicated tournament page for schedules and add their names to cash waitlists in advance through the PokerAtlas app, which holds a seat for arrival.

Gaming Machines and Electronic Tables

Playground spreads over 1,000 gaming machines across two floors, alongside electronic blackjack, roulette, and baccarat terminals. Titles on the floor include:

  • Lightning Link, Dragon Cash, and Dollar Storm progressive series.
  • Buffalo Diamond, Big Hot Flaming Pots, and Huff N’ Even More Puff reel games.
  • Electronic table games for blackjack, roulette, and baccarat.

All machine players receive complimentary drinks throughout play. Two self-contained smoking rooms equipped with machines sit on the 2nd floor (one near the elevators, one beside the bar), keeping the remaining floors smoke-free.

Cash Game Access in the Poker Room

The 3rd-floor poker room runs cash games 24/7 across 44 tables, with 17 more on the main floor. To join, players report to the Brush Desk in the Poker Hall, where staff assign an open seat or add the player to the waiting list for a callback. Cash game players receive food delivered to the table and complimentary drinks. Licensed massage therapists work the floor at CAD $1.50 per minute, with a waiting list when none is immediately free. The room also runs a Bad Beat Jackpot, having awarded two payouts above CAD $2 million.

Online Play Through GGPoker

Playground extended to digital channels in August 2021 through a GGPoker partnership, operating under the same KGC licence with an 18+ requirement per Quebec rules.

Account Registration

To create an account, players complete the following steps:

  • Open playground.ggpoker.com and select “Sign Up” at the top right.
  • Enter an email address and create a password.
  • Complete name, date of birth, and contact fields.
  • Add a Canadian address and postal code.
  • Upload a government photo ID plus a recent utility bill or bank statement.

Account creation takes about five minutes, and verification typically clears within 24 hours. Online cash games span CAD $0.01/$0.02 to CAD $25/$50, while tournament buy-ins run from CAD $5 to over $1,000; schedules follow Eastern Time, with major events starting between 19:00 and 21:00 ET.

System Requirements

The clients support Windows 10/11 or macOS 10.13+ on desktop and iOS 13.0+ or Android 8.0+ on mobile, with 4 GB RAM, 2 GB storage, and a 5+ Mbps connection. The Android build installs by direct download, since carrier restrictions sometimes block Google Play installation. A data-saving mode reduces bandwidth use, and biometric login is supported where the device allows it.

Funding an Account in Canadian Dollars

At Playground Poker Club & Casino, all transactions process in CAD with no conversion fees. Deposits start at CAD $10 from the cashier: players open the cashier, select a method, enter the amount, and confirm. Methods and timeframes are listed below.

Dining Venues

On-site dining includes The Rail (comfort fare and breakfast specials), Drunken Dragon (sushi, noodle dishes, sake, and whisky), and etc. (a steakhouse focused on premium cuts). Two lounges, Babel and Esperanto, serve cocktails, cigars, and shisha. Cash game players receive food at the table, while tournament players order from a discounted menu and drinks remain complimentary.

Player Support and Responsible Gaming

Support at Playground Poker Club & Casino runs 24/7 in English and French through live chat, email at [email protected], the toll-free line 1-888-642-2243, and the on-site desk. Live chat resolves table-specific issues fastest, while technical reports are filed under “Help” then “Technical Support” with device details and screenshots.

Setting Account Limits

Online players open “Account,” select “Responsible Gaming,” choose daily, weekly, or monthly deposit caps or self-exclusion, and confirm with a password. Limit reductions apply immediately, whereas increases require a 24-hour cooling period under Canadian rules, alongside playing-time reminders and links to provincial problem-gambling resources.
